So I turned and went down the mountain while it ¹  was blazing with fire; the two tablets of the covenant were in my hands.

So as Joab kept watch on the city, he stationed Uriah at the place where he knew the best enemy soldiers ¹  were.

They solemnly agreed ¹  to seek the Lord God of their ancestors ²  with their whole heart and being.

“I ¹  am weary ²  of my life; I will complain without restraint; ³  I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go; my conscience ¹  will not reproach me for as long as I live. ²

Then ¹  Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”

‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more, ¹  but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. ² 

Then ¹  he said to them, “What are these matters ²  you are discussing so intently ³  as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.
