Moses quickly bowed ¹  to the ground and worshiped

Whirring locusts ¹  will take over every tree and all the produce of your soil.

Faithfulness grows from the ground, and deliverance looks down from the sky. ¹ 

Gather your belongings together and prepare to leave the land, you people of Jerusalem ¹  who are being besieged. ² 

The Israelites ¹  turn justice into bitterness; ²  they throw what is fair and right ³  to the ground. ⁴ 

Then she gave birth ¹  to his brother Abel. ²  Abel took care of the flocks, while Cain cultivated the ground. ³ 

Then David prayed to ¹  God for the child and fasted. ²  He would even ³  go and spend the night lying on the ground.

The oxen and donkeys used in plowing ¹  will eat seasoned feed winnowed with a shovel and pitchfork. ² 

so ¹  I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

Other seed fell on rocky ground ¹  where it did not have much soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep. ² 

By the sweat of your brow ¹  you will eat food until you return to the ground, ²  for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you will return.” ³

While I was contemplating all this, ¹  a male goat ²  was coming from the west over the surface of all the land ³  without touching the ground. This goat had a conspicuous horn ⁴  between its eyes.
