But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, ¹  because you know that we will be judged more strictly. ² 

On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do ¹  many powerful deeds?’

Then ¹  large crowds came to him bringing with them the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others. They ²  laid them at his feet, and he healed them.

So ¹  he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. ²  But ³  he would not permit the demons to speak, ⁴  because they knew him. ⁵ 

As Jesus ¹  was having a meal ²  in Levi’s ³  home, many tax collectors ⁴  and sinners were eating with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

For just as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body – though many – are one body, so too is Christ.

For out of great distress and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not to make you sad, but to let you know the love that I have especially for you. ¹ 

Then ¹  I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: ²  “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, ³  the All-Powerful, ⁴  reigns!

And large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, ¹  Jerusalem, ²  Judea, and beyond the Jordan River. ³ 

Now when Jesus learned of this, he went away from there. Great ¹  crowds ²  followed him, and he healed them all.

He ¹  told them many things in parables, ²  saying: “Listen! ³  A sower went out to sow. ⁴ 

As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. ¹ 

After ¹  a long time, the master of those slaves came and settled his accounts with them.

for this is my blood, the blood ¹  of the covenant, ²  that is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

So many gathered that there was no longer any room, not even by ¹  the door, and he preached the word to them.

Jesus ¹  asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “My name is Legion, ²  for we are many.”

They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where ¹  he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly. ² 

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, ¹  and told them to give her something to eat.
