I am writing to you, fathers, that ¹  you have known him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young people, that ²  you have conquered the evil one. ³ 

So pray this way: ¹  Our Father ²  in heaven, may your name be honored, ³ 

“For if you forgive others ¹  their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Another ¹  of the ²  disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”

For it is not you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

“Brother ¹  will hand over brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise against ²  parents and have them put to death.

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

as he promised ¹  to our ancestors, ²  to Abraham and to his descendants ³  forever.”

So ¹  the child’s ²  father ³  and mother were amazed ⁴  at what was said about him.

What father among you, if your ¹  son asks for ²  a fish, will give him a snake ³  instead of a fish?

Woe to you! You build ¹  the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors ²  killed.

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

But the older son ¹  became angry ²  and refused ³  to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

Then ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead ³  goes to them, they will repent.’

No one has ever seen God. The only one, ¹  himself God, who is in closest fellowship with ²  the Father, has made God ³  known. ⁴ 

So he ¹  told ²  them, “My Father is working until now, and I too am working.” ³ 

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, ¹  so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes. ²
