The Lord’s spirit empowered ¹  him and he tore the lion ²  in two with his bare hands ³  as easily as one would tear a young goat. But he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.

Sometime later, during the wheat harvest, ¹  Samson took a young goat as a gift and went to visit his bride. ²  He said to her father, ³  “I want to have sex with my bride in her bedroom!” ⁴  But her father would not let him enter.

I saw it approaching the ram. It went into a fit of rage against the ram ¹  and struck it ²  and broke off its two horns. The ram had no ability to resist it. ³  The goat hurled the ram ⁴  to the ground and trampled it. No one could deliver the ram from its power. ⁵ 

Wild animals and wild dogs will congregate there; ¹  wild goats will bleat to one another. ²  Yes, nocturnal animals ³  will rest there and make for themselves a nest. ⁴ 

You may not eat any corpse, though you may give it to the resident foreigner who is living in your villages ¹  and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. You are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. ² 

Then Michal took a household idol ¹  and put it on the bed. She put a quilt ²  made of goat’s hair over its head ³  and then covered the idol with a garment.

and all the women whose heart stirred them to action and who were skilled ¹  spun goats’ hair.

Everyone who had ¹  blue, purple, or ²  scarlet yarn, fine linen, goats’ hair, ram skins dyed red, or fine leather ³  brought them. ⁴ 

“‘If his offering is from the flock for a burnt offering ¹  – from the sheep or the goats – he must present a flawless male,

See here! ¹  Its blood was not brought into the holy place within! ²  You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary just as I commanded!”

and Aaron is to cast lots over the two goats, ¹  one lot for the Lord and one lot for Azazel. ² 

For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins. ¹ 

Let me walk among ¹  all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, ²  and the spotted or speckled goats. ³  These animals will be my wages. ⁴ 

She put the skins of the young goats ¹  on his hands ²  and the smooth part of his neck.

You must not slaughter an ox or a sheep and its young ¹  on the same day. ² 

I do not need to take ¹  a bull from your household or goats from your sheepfolds.

My integrity will testify for me ¹  later on. ²  When you come to verify that I’ve taken only the wages we agreed on, ³  if I have in my possession any goat that is not speckled or spotted or any sheep that is not dark-colored, it will be considered stolen.” ⁴ 

Your lamb must be ¹  perfect, ²  a male, one year old; ³  you may take ⁴  it from the sheep or from the goats.

“‘If his offering for a peace offering sacrifice to the Lord is from the flock, he must present a flawless male or female. ¹ 

if it is to be acceptable for your benefit ¹  it must be a flawless male from the cattle, sheep, or goats.
