While he was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared, ¹  and the man named Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He walked up ²  to Jesus to kiss him. ³

Joshua kept holding out his curved sword until Israel had annihilated all who lived in Ai. ¹

The Lord annihilated Benjamin before Israel; the Israelites struck down that day 25,100 sword-wielding Benjaminites. ¹ 

When the king of Moab realized he was losing the battle, ¹  he and 700 swordsmen tried to break through and attack ²  the king of Edom, but they failed.

He lifted me out of the watery pit, ¹  out of the slimy mud. ²  He placed my feet on a rock and gave me secure footing. ³ 

I led them with leather ¹  cords, with leather ²  ropes; I lifted the yoke ³  from their neck, ⁴  and gently fed them. ⁵ 

That day Joshua drew up an agreement ¹  for the people, and he established rules and regulations ²  for them in Shechem.

The men of Israel marched out to fight Benjamin; they ¹  arranged their battle lines against Gibeah.

The men hiding in ambush made a mad dash ¹  to Gibeah. They ²  attacked ³  and put the sword to the entire city.

As Saul approached Samuel in the middle of the gate, he said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”

the one who led chariots and horses to destruction, ¹  together with a mighty army. They fell down, ²  never to rise again; they were extinguished, put out like a burning wick:

She is disobedient; ¹  she refuses correction. ²  She does not trust the Lord; she does not seek the advice of ³  her God.

Now ¹  as they approached Jerusalem, ²  near Bethphage ³  and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, ⁴  Jesus ⁵  sent two of his disciples

About noon ¹  the next day, while they were on their way and approaching ²  the city, Peter went up on the roof ³  to pray.

The commanding officer ¹  took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, “What is it that you want ²  to report to me?”

So the Israelites marched toward ¹  the Benjaminites the next day.
