You are to put the two stones on the shoulders of the ephod, stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, and Aaron will bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders for a memorial. ¹ 

Your servant has struck down both the lion and the bear. This uncircumcised Philistine will be just like one of them. ¹  For he has defied the armies of the living God!”

Having suffered, he will reflect on his work, he will be satisfied when he understands what he has done. ¹  “My servant ²  will acquit many, ³  for he carried their sins. ⁴ 

This will be a time for you to serve as witnesses. ¹ 

So, my brothers and sisters, ¹  you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God. ² 

For ¹  there are three that testify, ² 

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s ¹  root stock, a bud will sprout ²  from his roots.

For I can testify that they are zealous for God, ¹  but their zeal is not in line with the truth. ² 

For I can testify that he has worked hard ¹  for you and for those in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” ¹ 

“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

and you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced. ¹ 

“Be patient ¹  with me a little longer and I will instruct you, for I still have words to speak on God’s behalf. ² 

They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship. ¹  Then you will know that I am the sovereign Lord.”

Even now the ax is laid at ¹  the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

They ¹  tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing even to lift a finger to move them.

You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’” ¹ 

David went on to say, “The Lord who delivered me from the lion and the bear will also deliver me from the hand of this Philistine!” Then Saul said to David, “Go! The Lord will be with you.” ¹ 

Hushai went on to say, “You know your father and his men – they are soldiers and are as dangerous as a bear out in the wild that has been robbed of her cubs. ¹  Your father is an experienced soldier; he will not stay overnight with the army.
