When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

Then ¹  Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands. ² 

He said to them, “It is one of the twelve, one who dips his hand ¹  with me into the bowl. ² 

and when they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven ¹  and to all the rest.

And they called them in and ordered ¹  them not to speak or teach at all in the name ²  of Jesus.

So he was staying with them, associating openly with them ¹  in Jerusalem, speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord.

One ¹  should think about us this way – as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Jesus ¹  called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits. ² 

After he sat down, he called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

Some time ¹  afterward ²  he went on through towns ³  and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news ⁴  of the kingdom of God. ⁵  The ⁶  twelve were with him,

So ¹  they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. ²  They ³  found the eleven and those with them gathered together

So when they had gathered together, they began to ask him, ¹  “Lord, is this the time when you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

Then they returned to Jerusalem ¹  from the mountain ²  called the Mount of Olives ³  (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey ⁴  away).

Thus one of the men ¹  who have accompanied us during all the time the Lord Jesus associated with ²  us,

When this sound ¹  occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, ²  because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

When they were released, Peter and John ¹  went to their fellow believers ²  and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.

We ¹  are witnesses of all the things he did both in Judea ²  and in Jerusalem. ³  They ⁴  killed him by hanging him on a tree, ⁵ 

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

While he was still speaking, Judas, ¹  one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.

He said to them, “Come with me privately to an isolated place and rest a while” (for many were coming and going, and there was no time to eat).
