The cherubim spread ¹  their wings, and they rose up from the earth ²  while I watched (when they went the wheels went alongside them). They stopped at the entrance to the east gate of the Lord’s temple as the glory of the God of Israel hovered above them.

“‘There was another great eagle ¹  with broad wings and thick plumage. Now this vine twisted its roots toward him and sent its branches toward him to be watered from the soil where it was planted.

The combined wing span of the cherubs was 30 feet. ¹  One of the first cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched one wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the second cherub’s wings. ² 

Likewise one of the second cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched the other wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the first cherub’s wings. ¹ 

And above the ark ¹  were the cherubim ²  of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Now is not the time to speak of these things in detail.

and any winged thing on the ground are impure to you – they may not be eaten. ¹ 

But as soon as she springs up, ¹  she laughs at the horse and its rider.

They entered, ¹  along with every living creature after its kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, everything with wings. ² 

Each of the first cherub’s wings was seven and a half feet long; its entire wingspan was 15 feet. ¹ 

Do not curse a king even in your thoughts, and do not curse the rich ¹  while in your bedroom; ²  for a bird ³  might report what you are thinking, ⁴  or some winged creature ⁵  might repeat your ⁶  words. ⁷ 

Owls ¹  will make nests and lay eggs ²  there; they will hatch them and protect them. ³  Yes, hawks ⁴  will gather there, each with its mate.

These you may eat from among water creatures: anything with fins and scales you may eat,

but whatever does not have fins and scales you may not eat; it is ritually impure to you.

You shall make yourselves tassels ¹  for the four corners of the clothing you wear.

The second cherub also had a wingspan of 15 feet; it was identical to the first in measurements and shape. ¹ 

You pick me up on the wind and make me ride on it; ¹  you toss me about ²  in the storm. ³ 

Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

As for you, the one who lives ²  in the shelter of the sovereign One, ³  and resides in the protective shadow ⁴  of the mighty king ⁵  –

But take a few strands of hair ¹  from those and tie them in the ends of your garment. ²
