And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.

But he knows the pathway that I take; ¹  if he tested me, I would come forth like gold. ² 

Instead ¹  he finds pleasure in obeying the Lord’s commands; ²  he meditates on ³  his commands ⁴  day and night.

He ¹  is like a lion ²  that wants to tear its prey to bits, ³  like a young lion crouching ⁴  in hidden places.

A kind person ¹  benefits ²  himself, ³  but a cruel person brings himself trouble. ⁴ 

A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord ¹  condemns a person with wicked schemes. ² 

The appetite ¹  of the sluggard ²  craves ³  but gets nothing, but the desire of the diligent will be abundantly satisfied. ⁴ 

The righteous has enough food to satisfy his appetite, ¹  but the belly of the wicked lacks food. ² 

A faithful person ¹  will have an abundance of blessings, but the one who hastens ²  to gain riches will not go unpunished.

Israel will be swallowed up among the nations; they will be like a worthless piece of pottery.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

I am not trying to get ¹  praise for myself. ²  There is one who demands ³  it, and he also judges. ⁴ 

and know his will ¹  and approve the superior things because you receive instruction from the law, ² 

So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me.

What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline ¹  or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.

What I am saying with this boastful confidence ¹  I do not say the way the Lord would. ²  Instead it is, as it were, foolishness.

in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

And no one assumes this honor ¹  on his own initiative, ²  but only when called to it by God, ³  as in fact Aaron was.
