So Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he met ¹  the man, he said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” ²  He said, “Yes.” ³ 

But when the crowds found out, they followed him. He ¹  welcomed them, spoke to them about the kingdom of God, ²  and cured those who needed healing. ³ 

Now at that very moment his disciples came back. ¹  They were shocked ²  because he was speaking ³  with a woman. However, no one said, “What do you want?” ⁴  or “Why are you speaking with her?”

To the same apostles ¹  also, after his suffering, ²  he presented himself alive with many convincing proofs. He was seen by them over a forty-day period ³  and spoke about matters concerning the kingdom of God.

When the meeting of the synagogue ¹  had broken up, ²  many of the Jews and God-fearing proselytes ³  followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and were persuading ⁴  them ⁵  to continue ⁶  in the grace of God.

Then ¹  one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke to me. ²  “Come,” he said, “I will show you the condemnation and punishment ³  of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,

Then ¹  one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues came and spoke to me, ²  saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb!”

Solomon answered all her questions; there was no question too complex for the king. ¹ 

So these three men refused to answer ²  Job further, because he was righteous in his ³  own eyes.

But ¹  Job will be tested to the end, because his answers are like those of wicked men.

for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin. ¹ 

If I had publicized these thoughts, ¹  I would have betrayed your loyal followers. ² 

Though rulers plot and slander me, ¹  your servant meditates on your statutes.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed.

He spoke openly about this. So ¹  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure ¹  that he was about to carry out ²  at Jerusalem. ³ 

so ¹  he thought to himself, ²  ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ ³ 

While ¹  they were talking and debating ²  these things, ³  Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

All were astounded and greatly confused, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

He was speaking and debating ¹  with the Greek-speaking Jews, ²  but they were trying to kill him.
