This Jesus ¹  is the stone that was rejected by you, ²  the builders, that has become the cornerstone. ³ 

Actually, there are many advantages. ¹  First of all, ²  the Jews ³  were entrusted with the oracles of God. ⁴ 

For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited ¹  to him as righteousness.” ² 

As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” ¹ 

But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you. ¹ 

Just as it is written, “He ¹  has scattered widely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.” ² 

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the ¹  slave woman and the other by the free woman.

Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he captured ¹  captives; he gave gifts to men.” ² 

Then you must recall the Lord’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. ¹  Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened. ² 

But he answered, ¹  “It is written, ‘Man ²  does not live ³  by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” ⁴ 

Then Jesus said to him, “Go away, ¹  Satan! For it is written: ‘You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’” ² 

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. ¹ 

This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, ¹  who will prepare your way before you.’ ² 

He answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, ¹ 

And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ ¹  but you are turning it into a den ²  of robbers!” ³ 

He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry –

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

Then ¹  Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ ² 

Jesus ¹  answered him, ²  “It is written, ‘You are to worship ³  the Lord ⁴  your God and serve only him.’” ⁵
