Then Saul sent word to Jesse saying, “Let David be my servant, for I really like him.” ¹ 

“This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: ‘Why are you so confident that you remain in Jerusalem while it is under siege? ¹ 

They will perish, but you will endure. ¹  They will wear out like a garment; like clothes you will remove them and they will disappear. ² 

Zedekiah will be carried off to Babylon and will remain there until I have fully dealt with him. ¹  I, the Lord, affirm it! ²  Even if you ³  continue to fight against the Babylonians, ⁴  you cannot win.’”

This one ¹  heaven must ²  receive until the time all things are restored, ³  which God declared ⁴  from times long ago ⁵  through his holy prophets.

But ¹  we did not surrender to them ²  even for a moment, ³  in order that the truth of the gospel would remain with you. ⁴ 

As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus ¹  to instruct ²  certain people not to spread false teachings, ³ 

And when he is carried to the tombs, and watch is kept ¹  over the funeral mound, ² 

Look, I will escape to a distant place; I will stay in the wilderness. (Selah)

(She is loud and rebellious, she ¹  does not remain ²  at home –

The righteous will never be moved, but the wicked will not inhabit the land. ¹ 

Justice will settle down in the desert and fairness will live in the orchard. ¹ 

But Judah will reside securely forever, and Jerusalem will be secure ¹  from one generation to the next.

What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?

“When an ox, lamb, or goat is born, it must be under the care of ¹  its mother seven days, but from the eighth day onward it will be acceptable as an offering gift ²  to the Lord.

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with ¹  these nations that remain near you, ²  and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them, ³ 

Things will go better for the nation that submits to the yoke of servitude to ¹  the king of Babylon and is subject to him. I will leave that nation ²  in its native land. Its people can continue to farm it and live in it. I, the Lord, affirm it!”’” ³ 

As for you, what you have heard from the beginning must remain ¹  in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

five have fallen; one is, ¹  and the other has not yet come, but whenever he does come, he must remain for only a brief time.

Then Judah said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow in your father’s house until Shelah my son grows up.” For he thought, ¹  “I don’t want him to die like his brothers.” ²  So Tamar went and lived in her father’s house.
