See if there is any idolatrous tendency ¹  in me, and lead me in the reliable ancient path! ² 

The one who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, ¹  but the one who is perverted in his ways ²  despises him.

So ¹  I will pounce on them like a lion; ²  like a leopard I will lurk by the path.

Just as you do not know the path ¹  of the wind, or how the bones form ²  in the womb of a pregnant woman, ³  so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

Rely ¹  on the Lord! Obey his commands! ²  Then he will permit you ³  to possess the land; you will see the demise of evil men. ⁴ 

Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men ¹  spread a net by the path; they set traps for me. (Selah)

The highway ¹  of the upright is to turn ²  away from evil; the one who guards ³  his way safeguards his life. ⁴ 

The one who leads the upright astray in an evil way will himself fall into his own pit, ¹  but the blameless will inherit what is good. ² 

and make straight paths for your feet, ¹  so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but be healed.

Indeed, ¹  you are my lamp, ²  Lord. The Lord illumines ³  the darkness around me. ⁴ 

The one true God ¹  is my mighty refuge; ²  he removes ³  the obstacles in my way. ⁴ 

For he has been thrown into a net by his feet ¹  and he wanders into a mesh. ² 

They turn the needy from the pathway, and the poor of the land hide themselves together. ¹ 

Make me understand your ways, O Lord! Teach me your paths! ¹ 

The Lord is both kind and fair; ¹  that is why he teaches sinners the right way to live. ² 

Surely ¹  you put them in slippery places; you bring them down ²  to ruin.

My days are coming to an end, ¹  and I am withered like grass.

From the stream along the road he drinks; then he lifts up his head. ¹ 

Remove me from the path of deceit! ¹  Graciously give me ²  your law!

I choose the path of faithfulness; I am committed to ¹  your regulations.
