I tell you the truth, ¹  wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

Then ¹  the devil ²  led him up ³  to a high place ⁴  and showed him in a flash all the kingdoms of the world.

so that this generation may be held accountable ¹  for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning ²  of the world, ³ 

People will be fainting from fear ¹  and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. ² 

On the next day John ¹  saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God ²  who takes away the sin of the world!

For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself ¹  does anything in secret. ²  If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

do you say about the one whom the Father set apart ¹  and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

Thus the Pharisees ¹  said to one another, “You see that you can do nothing. Look, the world has run off after him!”

The one who loves his life ¹  destroys ²  it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards ³  it for eternal life.

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness.

In a little while ¹  the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.

“Lord,” Judas (not Judas Iscariot) ¹  said, ²  “what has happened that you are going to reveal ³  yourself to us and not to the world?”

I will not speak with you much longer, ¹  for the ruler of this world is coming. ²  He has no power over me, ³

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  you will weep ²  and wail, ³  but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, ⁴  but your sadness will turn into ⁵  joy.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe ¹  from the evil one. ² 

Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men ¹  know that you sent me.

The man ¹  replied, “How in the world can I, ²  unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

The God who made the world and everything in it, ¹  who is ²  Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by human hands, ³
