“‘If what is vowed is a kind of animal from which an offering may be presented ¹  to the Lord, anything which he gives to the Lord from this kind of animal ²  will be holy.

“This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord has commanded: ‘Instruct ¹  the Israelites to bring ²  you a red ³  heifer ⁴  without blemish, which has no defect ⁵  and has never carried a yoke.

and her father hears of her vow or the obligation to which she has pledged herself, and her father remains silent about her, ¹  then all her vows will stand, ²  and every obligation to which she has pledged herself will stand.

Then Moses commanded the Israelites: “This is the land which you will inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to be given ¹  to the nine and a half tribes,

For the land where you are headed ¹  is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, a land where you planted seed and which you irrigated by hand ²  like a vegetable garden.

This happened because of all the sins which Baasha and his son Elah committed and which they made Israel commit. They angered the Lord God of Israel with their worthless idols. ¹

all the people gathered together ¹  in the plaza which was in front of the Water Gate. They asked ²  Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the LORD had commanded Israel.

Yet which of them has ever stood in the Lord’s inner circle ¹  so they ²  could see and hear what he has to say? ³  Which of them have ever paid attention or listened to what he has said?

and the Horites in their hill country of Seir, as far as El Paran, which is near the desert. ¹ 

He went to his father and said, “My father!” Isaac ¹  replied, “Here I am. Which are you, my son?” ²

Now, if such a carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, ¹  it is clean,

“‘These are the Lord’s appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time.

“‘If he consecrates to the Lord a field he has purchased, ¹  which is not part of his own landed property,

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you enter the land to which I am bringing you ¹
