And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, ¹  worth less than a penny.

But when you host an elaborate meal, ¹  invite the poor, the crippled, ²  the lame, and ³  the blind. ⁴ 

He ¹  said, “I tell you the truth, ²  this poor widow has put in more than all of them. ³ 

“Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins ¹  and the money ²  given to the poor?”

The wealth of a rich person is like ¹  a fortified city, ²  but the poor are brought to ruin ³  by ⁴  their poverty.

There is one who pretends to be rich ¹  and yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor ²  and yet possesses great wealth. ³ 

Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity ¹  than one who is perverse in his speech ²  and is a fool. ³
