But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”

For if what was made ineffective ¹  came with ²  glory, how much more has what remains ³  come in glory!

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer everyone.

For you know yourselves how you must imitate us, because we did not behave without discipline ¹  among you,

I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand, which is how I write in every letter. ¹ 

But see how great he must be, if ¹  Abraham the patriarch gave him a tithe ²  of his plunder.

And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, ¹ 

But if your eye is diseased, ¹  your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers ¹  of the field grow; they do not work ²  or spin.

Or how can you say ¹  to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while there is a beam in your own?

Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say anything good, since you are evil? For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart.

Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

How could you not understand that I was not speaking to you about bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!”

Then Peter came to him and said, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother ¹  who sins against me? As many as seven times?”

And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But he had nothing to say. ¹ 

He goes to sleep and gets up, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five – and two fish.”

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, “Twelve.”

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, ¹  “Seven.”

Salt ¹  is good, but if it loses its saltiness, ²  how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”
