But the Lord said, “What have you done? ¹  The voice ²  of your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!

So now, you are banished ¹  from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

Then Laban said to him, “You are indeed my own flesh and blood.” ¹  So Jacob ²  stayed with him for a month. ³ 

Binding his foal to the vine, and his colt to the choicest vine, he will wash ¹  his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.

They will take some of the blood and put it on the two side posts and top of the doorframe of the houses where they will eat it.

“If a thief is caught ¹  breaking in ²  and is struck so that he dies, there will be no blood guilt for him. ³ 

“You must not offer ¹  the blood of my sacrifice with bread containing yeast; the fat of my festal sacrifice must not remain until morning. ² 

“You must not offer the blood of my sacrifice with yeast; the sacrifice from the feast of Passover must not remain until the following morning. ¹ 

lay his hand on its head, and slaughter it before the Meeting Tent, and the sons of Aaron must splash its blood against the altar’s sides.

This is ¹  a perpetual statute throughout your generations ²  in all the places where you live: You must never eat any fat or any blood.’” ³ 

And you must not eat any blood of the birds or the domesticated land animals in any of the places where you live. ¹ 

The one from Aaron’s sons who presents the blood of the peace offering and fat will have the right thigh as his share,

He then slaughtered the burnt offering, and his sons ¹  handed ²  the blood to him and he splashed ³  it against the altar’s sides.

See here! ¹  Its blood was not brought into the holy place within! ²  You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary just as I commanded!”

If she bears a female child, she will be impure fourteen days as during her menstrual flow, and she will remain sixty-six days in ¹  blood purity. ² 

Then he is to sprinkle on it some of the blood with his finger seven times, and cleanse and consecrate it ¹  from the impurities of the Israelites.

“‘If anyone ²  curses his father and mother ³  he must be put to death. He has cursed his father and mother; his blood guilt is on himself. ⁴ 

Then the heifer must be burned ¹  in his sight – its skin, its flesh, its blood, and its offal is to be burned. ² 

You must not shed innocent blood ¹  in your land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, for that would make you guilty. ² 

The elders of his own city must send for him and remove him from there to deliver him over to the blood avenger ¹  to die.
