But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

So I want the men ¹  to pray ²  in every place, lifting up holy hands ³  without anger or dispute.

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! ¹  Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their fury, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel! ¹ 

and my anger will burn and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will be widows and your children will be fatherless. ¹ 

So now, leave me alone ¹  so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”

The Lord passed by before him and proclaimed: ¹  “The Lord, the Lord, ²  the compassionate and gracious ³  God, slow to anger, ⁴  and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness, ⁵ 

for the Lord your God, who is present among you, is a jealous God and his anger will erupt against you and remove you from the land. ¹ 

For I was terrified at the Lord’s intense anger ¹  that threatened to destroy you. But he ²  listened to me this time as well.

Then all the nations will ask, “Why has the Lord done all this to this land? What is this fierce, heated display of anger ¹  all about?”

That is why the Lord’s anger erupted against this land, bringing on it all the curses ¹  written in this scroll.

So the Lord has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

Since you did not obey the Lord ¹  and did not carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites, the Lord has done this thing to you today.

The Lord’s anger again raged against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go count Israel and Judah.” ¹ 

Ahab also made an Asherah pole; he ¹  did more to anger the Lord God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

Yet the Lord’s great anger against Judah did not subside; he was still infuriated by all the things Manasseh had done. ¹ 

So when Rehoboam ¹  humbled himself, the Lord relented from his anger and did not annihilate him; ²  Judah experienced some good things. ³

“O that ¹  you would hide me in Sheol, ²  and conceal me till your anger has passed! ³  O that you would set me a time ⁴  and then remember me! ⁵ 

His ¹  anger has torn me ²  and persecuted ³  me; he has gnashed at me with his teeth; my adversary locks ⁴  his eyes on me.
