“To ¹  the angel of the church in Pergamum write the following: ²  “This is the solemn pronouncement of ³  the one who has the sharp double-edged sword: ⁴ 

And I saw a powerful angel proclaiming in a loud voice: “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?”

The ¹  smoke coming from the incense, ²  along with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.

Then ¹  the second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain of burning fire was thrown into the sea. A ²  third of the sea became blood,

They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon. ¹ 

Then ¹  the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a single voice coming from the ²  horns on the golden altar that is before God,

saying to the sixth angel, the one holding ¹  the trumpet, “Set free ²  the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”

A ¹  second ²  angel ³  followed the first, ⁴  declaring: ⁵  “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great city! ⁶  She made all the nations ⁷  drink of the wine of her immoral passion.” ⁸ 

Then ¹  the third angel ²  poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood.

Now ¹  I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are just ²  – the one who is and who was, the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments, ³ 

Then ¹  the sixth angel ²  poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and dried up its water ³  to prepare the way ⁴  for the kings from the east. ⁵ 

Finally ¹  the seventh angel ²  poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done!”

Then ¹  the angel ²  said to me, “The waters you saw (where the prostitute is seated) are peoples, multitudes, ³  nations, and languages.

After these things I saw another angel, who possessed great authority, coming down out of heaven, and the earth was lit up by his radiance. ¹ 

Then ¹  I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding ²  in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain.

The angel ¹  who spoke to me had a golden measuring rod with which to measure the city and its foundation stones and wall.

He also measured its wall, one hundred forty-four cubits ¹  according to human measurement, which is also the angel’s. ² 

Then ¹  the angel ²  showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring out ³  from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

Another ¹  angel, who was in charge of ²  the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to the angel ³  who had the sharp sickle, “Use ⁴  your sharp sickle and gather ⁵  the clusters of grapes ⁶  off the vine of the earth, ⁷  because its grapes ⁸  are now ripe.” ⁹ 

Then the Lord’s angel said to her, “You are now ¹  pregnant and are about to give birth ²  to a son. You are to name him Ishmael, ³  for the Lord has heard your painful groans. ⁴
