We know that ¹  our old man was crucified with him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, ²  so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

And do this ¹  because we know ²  the time, that it is already the hour for us to awake from sleep, for our salvation is now nearer than when we became believers.

realizing that law ¹  is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

Jesus knew at once that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?”

But ¹  he will reply, ²  ‘I don’t know where you come from! ³  Go away from me, all you evildoers!’ ⁴ 

Then Jesus, because he knew they were going to come and seize him by force to make him king, withdrew again up the mountainside alone. ¹ 

When Jesus was aware ¹  that his disciples were complaining ²  about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended? ³ 

For all who have sinned apart from the law ¹  will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

And our hope for you is steadfast because we know that as you share in ¹  our sufferings, so also you will share in ²  our comfort.

The former proclaim Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, because they think they can cause trouble for me in my imprisonment. ¹ 

he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in controversies and verbal disputes. This gives rise to envy, dissension, slanders, evil suspicions,

God saw ¹  the Israelites, and God understood…. ² 

He who removes mountains suddenly, ¹  who overturns them in his anger; ² 

They destroy ¹  my path; they succeed in destroying me ²  without anyone assisting ³  them.

He ¹  draws near to the place of corruption, and his life to the messengers of death. ² 

“Who is this ¹  who darkens counsel ²  with words without knowledge?

Remove me from the path of deceit! ¹  Graciously give me ²  your law!

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.) ¹ 

until another king who did not know about ¹  Joseph ruled ²  over Egypt. ³ 

You who boast in the law dishonor God by transgressing the law!
