He drove the nations out from before them; he assigned them their tribal allotments ¹  and allowed the tribes of Israel to settle down. ² 

Many foreign rulers ¹  will ruin the land where I planted my people. ²  They will trample all over my chosen land. ³  They will turn my beautiful land into a desolate wasteland.

“‘This will be their inheritance: I am their inheritance, and you must give them no property in Israel; I am their property. ¹ 

In Christ ¹  we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, ²  since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will

who is the down payment ¹  of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, ²  to the praise of his glory.

“‘In this year of jubilee you must each return ¹  to your property.

“To these the land must be divided as an inheritance according to the number of the names.

and if he has no daughter, then you are to give his inheritance to his brothers;

Now if they should be married to one of the men ¹  from another Israelite tribe, their inheritance would be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. ²  As a result, it will be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

Moses assigned land to the tribe of Reuben ¹  by its clans.

Moses assigned land to the tribe of Gad ¹  by its clans.

This is the land assigned to the tribe of Judah by its clans: ¹ 

Joseph’s descendants, Manasseh and Ephraim, were assigned their land. ¹ 

seven Israelite tribes had not been assigned their allotted land. ¹ 

But the Levites will not have an allotted portion among you, for their inheritance is to serve the Lord. ¹  Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their allotted land ²  east of the Jordan which Moses the Lord’s servant assigned them.”

Their assigned land included ¹  Beer Sheba, ²  Moladah,

The fourth lot belonged to the tribe of Issachar ¹  by its clans.

The fifth lot belonged to the tribe of Asher ¹  by its clans.

The sixth lot belonged to the tribe of Naphtali ¹  by its clans.

The seventh lot belonged to the tribe of Dan ¹  by its clans.
