(Who has confronted ¹  me that I should repay? ²  Everything under heaven belongs to me!) ³ 

His mouth is full of curses and deceptive, harmful words; ¹  his tongue injures and destroys. ² 

Your ¹  sons will carry ²  on the dynasty of your ancestors; ³  you will make them princes throughout the land.

Their tongues wound like a serpent; ¹  a viper’s ²  venom is behind ³  their lips. (Selah)

Under three things the earth trembles, ¹  and under four things it cannot bear up:

I reflected on everything that is accomplished by man ¹  on earth, ²  and I concluded: Everything ³  he has accomplished ⁴  is futile ⁵  – like chasing the wind! ⁶ 

So I began to despair ¹  about all the fruit of ²  my labor ³  for which I worked so hard ⁴  on earth. ⁵ 

What does a man acquire from all his labor and from the anxiety that accompanies his toil on earth? ¹
