When Baasha heard the news, he stopped fortifying ¹  Ramah and settled down in Tirzah.

So he did ¹  as the Lord told him; he went and lived in the Kerith Valley near the Jordan.

He looked and right there by his head was a cake baking on hot coals and a jug of water. He ate and drank and then slept some more. ¹ 

He picked up Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen off him, and went back and stood on the shore of the Jordan.

So he picked him up and took him to his mother. He sat on her lap ¹  until noon and then died.

King Shalmaneser of Assyria threatened ¹  him; Hoshea became his subject and paid him tribute.

David lived in the fortress; for this reason it is called the City of David.

While Ornan was threshing wheat, he turned and saw the messenger, and he and his four sons hid themselves.

Because of their distress, they turned back to the Lord God of Israel. They sought him and he responded to them. ¹ 

Now I intend ¹  to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, so that he may relent from his raging anger. ² 

Then Mordecai again sat at the king’s gate, while Haman hurried away to his home, mournful and with a veil over his head.

He entreats God, and God ¹  delights in him, he sees God’s face ²  with rejoicing, and God ³  restores to him his righteousness. ⁴ 

The Lord rewarded me for my godly deeds; ¹  he took notice of my blameless behavior. ² 

He will pay them back for their sin. ¹  He will destroy them because of ²  their evil; the Lord our God will destroy them.

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life’s breath ¹  returns to God who gave it.

So they pulled Jeremiah up from the cistern with ropes. Jeremiah, however, still remained confined ¹  to the courtyard of the guardhouse.

Because he considered ¹  and turned from all the sins he had done, he will surely live; he will not die.

Then he brought me back by way of the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces east, but it was shut.

Then the king of the north ¹  will return to his own land with much property. His mind will be set against the holy covenant. He will take action, and then return to his own land.

The angelic messenger ¹  who had been speaking with me then returned and woke me, as a person is wakened from sleep.
