Just before ¹  the Lord took Elijah up to heaven in a windstorm, Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal.

The mother of the child said, “As certainly as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So Elisha ¹  got up and followed her back.

Jehu then left there and set out for Samaria. ¹  While he was traveling through Beth Eked of the Shepherds,

Nebuzaradan, captain of the royal guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.

David and the whole Israelite army ¹  advanced to Jerusalem (that is, Jebus). ²  (The Jebusites, the land’s original inhabitants, lived there.) ³ 

Rehoboam traveled to Shechem, for all Israel had gathered in ¹  Shechem to make Rehoboam ²  king.

He said to them, “Go away for three days, then return to me.” So the people went away.

He followed in his father Asa’s footsteps and was careful to do what the Lord approved. ¹ 

He did what the Lord approved ¹  and followed in his ancestor David’s footsteps; ²  he did not deviate to the right or the left.

I was angry because of their sinful greed; I attacked them and angrily rejected them, ¹  yet they remained disobedient and stubborn. ² 

But Ishmael son of Nethaniah managed to escape from Johanan along with eight of his men, and he went on over to Ammon.

So Hosea married ¹  Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim. Then she conceived and gave birth to a son for him.

Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed with all kinds of gifts from his master at his disposal. ¹  He journeyed ²  to the region of Aram Naharaim ³  and the city of Nahor.

He scooped it up with his hands and ate it as he walked along. When he returned ¹  to his father and mother, he offered them some and they ate it. But he did not tell them he had scooped the honey out of the lion’s carcass. ² 

So Saul went to Naioth in Ramah. The Spirit of God came upon him as well, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

Then Ezra got up from in front of the temple of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he stayed ¹  there, he did not eat food or drink water, for he was in mourning over the infidelity of the exiles.

And he journeyed from place to place ¹  from the Negev as far as Bethel. ²  He returned ³  to the place where he had pitched his tent ⁴  at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai.

Then Rebekah and her female servants mounted the camels and rode away with ¹  the man. So Abraham’s servant ²  took Rebekah and left.

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew; Esau ate and drank, then got up and went out. ¹  So Esau despised his birthright. ²
