The delight of kings ¹  is righteous counsel, ²  and they love the one who speaks ³  uprightly. ⁴ 

The one who is wise in heart ¹  is called ²  discerning, and kind speech ³  increases persuasiveness. ⁴ 

A wise person’s heart ¹  makes his speech wise ²  and it adds persuasiveness ³  to his words. ⁴ 

A wicked scoundrel ¹  digs up ²  evil, and his slander ³  is like a scorching fire. ⁴ 

The one who winks his eyes ¹  devises perverse things, and ²  one who compresses his lips ³  brings about ⁴  evil.

Even a fool who remains silent is considered ¹  wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning. ² 

The lips of a fool ¹  enter into strife, ²  and his mouth invites ³  a flogging. ⁴ 

The mouth of a fool is his ruin, and his lips are a snare for his life. ¹ 

From the fruit of a person’s mouth ¹  his stomach is satisfied, ²  with the product of his lips is he satisfied.

Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity ¹  than one who is perverse in his speech ²  and is a fool. ³ 

There is gold, and an abundance of rubies, but ¹  words of knowledge ²  are like ³  a precious jewel.

The one who goes about gossiping ¹  reveals secrets; therefore do not associate ²  with someone who is always opening his mouth. ³ 

The one who loves a pure heart ¹  and whose speech is gracious ²  – the king will be his friend. ³ 

for their hearts contemplate violence, and their lips speak harm. ¹ 

Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause, ¹  and do not deceive with your words. ² 

Let another ¹  praise you, and not your own mouth; ²  someone else, ³  and not your own lips.

The words of a wise person ¹  win him ²  favor, ³  but the words ⁴  of a fool are self-destructive. ⁵ 

Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “In my dream I was standing ¹  by the edge of the Nile.

But Moses said before the Lord, “Since I speak with difficulty, ¹  why should Pharaoh listen to me?”

There was an opening in the center of the robe, like the opening of a collar, with an edge all around the opening so that it could not be torn.
