Remain ¹  in me, and I will remain in you. ²  Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, ³  unless it remains ⁴  in ⁵  the vine, so neither can you unless you remain ⁶  in me.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate ¹  will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.

So then, ¹  if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her ²  husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head. ¹ 

But if you marry, you have not sinned. And if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face difficult circumstances, ¹  and I am trying to spare you such problems. ² 

Now, brothers and sisters, ¹  if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I help you unless I speak to you with a revelation or with knowledge or prophecy or teaching?

“For if you forgive others ¹  their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

And a leper ¹  approached, and bowed low before him, saying, ²  “Lord, if ³  you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Then ¹  an expert in the law ²  came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” ³ 

Leave them! They are blind guides. ¹  If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, ²  both will fall into a pit.”

And whoever welcomes ¹  a child like this in my name welcomes me.

He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too, and I will give you whatever is right.’

But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”

So go into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’

But if ¹  that evil slave should say to himself, ²  ‘My master is staying away a long time,’

If ¹  this matter is heard before the governor, ²  we will satisfy him ³  and keep you out of trouble.” ⁴ 

For nothing is hidden except to be revealed, ¹  and nothing concealed except to be brought to light.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there ¹  until you leave the area.

He swore to her, ¹  “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.” ² 

They discussed with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
