But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”

(I do not accept ¹  human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.)

You will look for me ¹  but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come.”

Who among you can prove me guilty ¹  of any sin? ²  If I am telling you ³  the truth, why don’t you believe me?

Jesus answered, “I am not possessed by a demon, ¹  but I honor my Father – and yet ²  you dishonor me.

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and do so correctly, ¹  for that is what I am. ² 

“I give you a new commandment – to love ¹  one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. ² 

For ¹  John baptized with water, but you ²  will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

In spite of what you think, these men are not drunk, ¹  for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. ² 

But you rejected ¹  the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a man who was a murderer be released to you.

After ¹  making Peter and John ²  stand in their midst, they began to inquire, “By what power or by what name ³  did you do this?”

The God of our forefathers ¹  raised up Jesus, whom you seized and killed by hanging him on a tree. ² 

So you too consider yourselves ¹  dead to sin, but ²  alive to God in Christ Jesus.

It is the same with you. Since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, ¹  seek to abound in order to strengthen the church.

and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you can send me on my journey, wherever I go.

You yourselves are our letter, ¹  written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” ¹  says the All-Powerful Lord. ² 

Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself ¹  so that you could be exalted, because I proclaimed ²  the gospel of God to you free of charge?

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And we pray for this: that you may become fully qualified. ¹ 

I beg you, brothers and sisters, ¹  become like me, because I have become like you. You have done me no wrong!
