But we know where this man ¹  comes from. ²  Whenever the Christ ³  comes, no one will know where he comes from.” ⁴ 

Some of them were wanting to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him. ¹ 

Jesus stood up straight ¹  and said to her, “Woman, ²  where are they? Did no one condemn you?”

No one has greater love than this – that one lays down his life ¹  for his friends.

But now I am going to the one who sent me, ¹  and not one of you is asking me, ‘Where are you going?’ ² 

His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainly ¹  and not in obscure figures of speech! ² 

He said this ¹  to fulfill the word he had spoken, ²  “I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.” ³ 

And because they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against this. ¹ 

(For the Spirit ¹  had not yet come upon ²  any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ³ 

and he made no distinction ¹  between them and us, cleansing ²  their hearts by faith.

So they all seized Sosthenes, the president of the synagogue, ¹  and began to beat ²  him in front of the judgment seat. ³  Yet none of these things were of any concern ⁴  to Gallio.

You know that I did not hold back from proclaiming ¹  to you anything that would be helpful, ²  and from teaching you publicly ³  and from house to house,

When his accusers stood up, they did not charge ¹  him with any of the evil deeds I had suspected. ² 

and as they were leaving they said to one another, ¹  “This man is not doing anything deserving ²  death or imprisonment.”

And now I advise ¹  you to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only the ship will be lost. ² 

For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit. ¹ 

Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith. ¹ 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  I offer an example from everyday life: ²  When a covenant ³  has been ratified, ⁴  even though it is only a human contract, no one can set it aside or add anything to it.
