But immediately Jesus ¹  spoke to them: ²  “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”

So many gathered that there was no longer any room, not even by ¹  the door, and he preached the word to them.

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! ¹  Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

But Jesus, paying no attention to what was said, told the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”

And immediately the man’s ¹  ears were opened, his tongue loosened, and he spoke plainly.

People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

He spoke openly about this. So ¹  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; ¹ 

as he promised ¹  to our ancestors, ²  to Abraham and to his descendants ³  forever.”

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

When ¹  they saw him, ²  they related what they had been told ³  about this child,

So ¹  the child’s ²  father ³  and mother were amazed ⁴  at what was said about him.

So ¹  the dead man ²  sat up and began to speak, and Jesus ³  gave him back ⁴  to his mother.

As he spoke, ¹  a Pharisee ²  invited Jesus ³  to have a meal with him, so he went in and took his place at the table. ⁴ 

He is not here, but has been raised! ¹  Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, ² 

While they were saying these things, Jesus ¹  himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” ² 

We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man ¹  comes from!”

Jesus told him, “You have seen him; he ¹  is the one speaking with you.” ² 

I have told you these things ¹  so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.
