Other seed fell among the thorns, ¹  and they grew up and choked it, ²  and it did not produce grain.

So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

And when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. They hold fast to many other traditions: the washing of cups, pots, kettles, and dining couches. ¹ ) ² 

What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy ¹  those tenants and give the vineyard to others. ² 

The expert in the law said to him, “That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him. ¹ 

“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.’”

In the same way even the chief priests – together with the experts in the law ¹  – were mocking him among themselves: ²  “He saved others, but he cannot save himself!

When he was in Galilee, they had followed him and given him support. ¹  Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem ²  were there too.

Then ¹  Levi gave a great banquet ²  in his house for Jesus, ³  and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting ⁴  at the table with them.

To the person who strikes you on the cheek, ¹  offer the other as well, ²  and from the person who takes away your coat, ³  do not withhold your tunic ⁴  either. ⁵ 

He will come and destroy ¹  those tenants and give the vineyard to others.” ²  When the people ³  heard this, they said, “May this never happen!” ⁴ 

And after about an hour still another insisted, ¹  “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” ² 

I sent you to reap what you did not work for; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”

There is another ¹  who testifies about me, and I know the testimony he testifies about me is true.

Others said, “This is the Christ!” ¹  But still others said, “No, ²  for the Christ doesn’t come from Galilee, does he? ³ 

The crowd that stood there and heard the voice ¹  said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to him. ² 

So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men who had been crucified ¹  with Jesus, ²  first the one and then the other. ³ 

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter ¹  and reached the tomb first. ² 

Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, came in, and he saw and believed. ¹ 

Now Jesus performed ¹  many other miraculous signs in the presence of the ²  disciples, which are not recorded ³  in this book. ⁴
