“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over ¹  to be crucified.” ² 

and declared, “This man ¹  said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

The ¹  governor asked them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said, “Barabbas!”

Just then ¹  the temple curtain ²  was torn in two, from top to bottom. The ³  earth shook and the rocks were split apart.

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five – and two fish.”

Then ¹  James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

Now ¹  as they approached Jerusalem, ²  near Bethphage ³  and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, ⁴  Jesus ⁵  sent two of his disciples

Two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the chief priests and the experts in the law ¹  were trying to find a way ²  to arrest Jesus ³  by stealth and kill him.

John ¹  answered them, ²  “The person who has two tunics ³  must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.”

He ¹  saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

He ¹  said to them, “Take nothing for your ²  journey – no staff, ³  no bag, ⁴  no bread, no money, and do not take an extra tunic. ⁵ 

Then ¹  the seventy-two ²  returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to ³  us in your name!” ⁴ 

I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. ¹ 

Now ¹  when he approached Bethphage ²  and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, ³  he sent two of the disciples,

While ¹  they were perplexed ²  about this, suddenly ³  two men stood beside them in dazzling ⁴  attire.

Now ¹  that very day two of them ²  were on their way to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles ³  from Jerusalem. ⁴ 

Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples who heard what John said ¹  and followed Jesus. ² 

Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing, ¹  each holding twenty or thirty gallons. ² 

“Here is a boy who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good ¹  are these for so many people?”

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter ¹  and reached the tomb first. ²
