Israel was a fertile vine that yielded fruit. As his fruit multiplied, he multiplied altars to Baal. ¹  As his land prospered, they adorned the fertility pillars.

Remember ¹  that my life is but a breath, that ²  my eyes will never again ³  see happiness.

Remain loyal to ¹  the Lord, you chosen people of his, ²  for his loyal followers ³  lack nothing!

Then I will tell others about your justice, ¹  and praise you all day long. ² 

But as for me, my feet almost slipped; my feet almost slid out from under me. ¹ 

Yes, the Lord will bestow his good blessings, ¹  and our land will yield ²  its crops.

So they proclaim that the Lord, my protector, is just and never unfair. ¹ 

who satisfies your life with good things, ¹  so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s. ² 

You ¹  will eat what you worked so hard to grow. ²  You will be blessed and secure. ³ 

So ¹  you will walk in the way of good people, ²  and will keep on the paths of the righteous. ³ 

for you will heap coals of fire on his head, ¹  and the Lord will reward you. ² 

An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, and the one who lives an upright life is an abomination to the wicked. ¹ 

The Lord wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it. ¹ 

I also gave ¹  them decrees ²  which were not good and regulations by which they could not live.

For I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifice; I delight ¹  in acknowledging God, not simply in whole burnt offerings. ² 

And let us not put Christ ¹  to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes. ² 

Just as it is written, “He ¹  has scattered widely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.” ² 

since ¹  we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints.

And the fruit that consists of righteousness ¹  is planted ²  in peace among ³  those who make peace.

And if you come with us, it is certain ¹  that whatever good things the Lord will favor us with, we will share with you as well.”
