For where two or three are assembled in my name, I am there among them.”

Now ¹  when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. ² 

So ¹  the Pharisees ²  went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, ³  as to how they could assassinate ⁴  him.

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

And Jesus ¹  ordered them, ²  “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees ³  and the yeast of Herod!”

Then ¹  they sent some of the Pharisees ²  and Herodians ³  to trap him with his own words. ⁴ 

But ¹  some of the Pharisees ²  in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” ³ 

When ¹  those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, should ²  we use our swords?” ³ 

Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. ¹  They ²  were at the tomb early this morning,

My Father is honored ¹  by this, that ²  you bear ³  much fruit and show that you are ⁴  my disciples.

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

But his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening ¹  in the wall by lowering him in a basket. ² 

Of course, ¹  I myself was convinced ²  that it was necessary to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus the Nazarene.

Be imitators of me, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.

And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. ¹  Because of these false teachers, ²  the way of truth will be slandered. ³ 

In a time of prosperity for the most productive areas of the province he will come and accomplish what neither his fathers nor their fathers accomplished. He will distribute loot, spoils, and property to his followers, and he will devise plans against fortified cities, but not for long. ¹ 

Therefore you and all your company have assembled together against the Lord! And Aaron – what is he that you murmur against him?” ¹ 

and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, along with their households, and all Korah’s men, and all their goods.

So they got up and crossed over by number: twelve belonging to Benjamin and to Ish-bosheth son of Saul, and twelve from the servants of David.

He gathered some men and organized a raiding band. ¹  When David tried to kill them, ²  they went to Damascus, where they settled down and gained control of the city.
