Honor ¹  widows who are truly in need. ² 

Therefore, remember from what high state ¹  you have fallen and repent! Do ²  the deeds you did at the first; ³  if not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place – that is, if you do not repent. ⁴ 

(Now the man Moses was very humble, ¹  more so than any man on the face of the earth.)

He captured King Agag of the Amalekites alive, but he executed all Agag’s people ¹  with the sword.

Then ¹  all the nations of the earth will recognize that the Lord is the only genuine God. ² 

Let another ¹  praise you, and not your own mouth; ²  someone else, ³  and not your own lips.

Do not let anyone accuse or contend against anyone else: ¹  for my case is against you priests! ² 

Peter ¹  said to him, “If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!”

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, I will not!”

And if you haven’t been trustworthy ¹  with someone else’s property, ²  who will give you your own ³ ?

None of the rest dared to join them, ¹  but the people held them in high honor. ² 

Then the Israelites said to him, “We will go along the highway, and if we ¹  or our cattle drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We will only pass through on our feet, without doing anything else.”

One of you must go and get ¹  your brother, while ²  the rest of you remain in prison. ³  In this way your words may be tested to see if ⁴  you are telling the truth. ⁵  If not, then, as surely as Pharaoh lives, you are spies!”

He will withhold from all of them his children’s flesh that he is eating (since there is nothing else left), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict ¹  you in your villages.

three ¹  years of famine, or three months being chased by your enemies and struck down by their swords, ²  or three days being struck down by the Lord, during which a plague will invade the land and the Lord’s messenger will destroy throughout Israel’s territory.’ ³  Now, decide what I should tell the one who sent me.”

When their close relatives, the ones who will burn the corpses, ¹  pick up their bodies to remove the bones from the house, they will say to anyone who is in the inner rooms of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” He will respond, “Be quiet! Don’t invoke the Lord’s name!” ² 

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  when you were young, you tied your clothes around you ²  and went wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will tie you up ³  and bring you where you do not want to go.”
