He was afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! This is nothing else than the house of God! This is the gate of heaven!”

So they approached the man who was in charge of Joseph’s household and spoke to him at the entrance to the house.

The hangings on one side ¹  of the gate are to be ²  twenty-two and a half feet long, with their three posts and their three bases.

“You are to present ¹  Aaron and his sons at the entrance of the tent of meeting. You are to wash ²  them with water

the hangings of the courtyard, its posts and its bases, and the curtain for the gateway to the courtyard;

He made a hanging for the entrance of the tent of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer,

with hangings on one side ¹  of the gate that were twenty-two and a half feet long, with their three posts and their three bases,

and the coverings of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, ¹  and the protecting ²  curtain;

“You are to bring ¹  Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.

And he set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and put the curtain at the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.

So Moses did just as the Lord commanded him, and the congregation assembled at the entrance of the Meeting Tent.

“On the eighth day he must bring them for his purification to the priest at the entrance ¹  of the Meeting Tent before the Lord,

He must then take the two goats ¹  and stand them before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,

but does not bring it to the entrance of the Meeting Tent to offer it ¹  to the Lord – that person will be cut off from his people. ² 

He must bring his guilt offering to the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, a guilt offering ram, ¹ 

On the eighth day he is to bring ¹  two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the entrance to the tent of meeting.

The Lord appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud that ¹  stood above the door of the tent.

As Saul approached Samuel in the middle of the gate, he said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”

David was thirsty and said, “How I wish someone would give me some water to drink from the cistern in Bethlehem near the gate!”

Now four men with a skin disease ¹  were sitting at the entrance of the city gate. They said to one another, “Why are we just sitting here waiting to die? ²
