And every day both in the temple courts ¹  and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news ²  that Jesus was the Christ. ³ 

For six days ¹  you may labor ²  and do all your work, ³ 

“The appointed responsibility of Eleazar son of Aaron the priest is for the oil for the light, and the spiced incense, and the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil; he also has ¹  the appointed responsibility over all the tabernacle with ²  all that is in it, over the sanctuary and over all its furnishings.” ³ 

You are to work and do all your tasks in six days,

He observed the daily requirements for sacrifices that Moses had specified for Sabbaths, new moon festivals, and the three annual celebrations – the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Temporary Shelters. ¹ 

As his father David had decreed, Solomon ¹  appointed the divisions of the priests to do their assigned tasks, the Levitical orders to lead worship and help the priests with their daily tasks, ²  and the divisions of the gatekeepers to serve at their assigned gates. ³  This was what David the man of God had ordered. ⁴ 

Whatever is needed – whether oxen or rams or lambs or burnt offerings for the God of heaven or wheat or salt or wine or oil, as required by ¹  the priests who are in Jerusalem – must be given to them daily without any neglect,

As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you. ¹ 

They seek me day after day; they want to know my requirements, ¹  like a nation that does what is right and does not reject the law of their God. They ask me for just decrees; they want to be near God.

When those hired about five o’clock came, each received a full day’s pay. ¹ 

Fill up then the measure of your ancestors!

Most excellent Felix, ¹  we acknowledge this everywhere and in every way ²  with all gratitude. ³ 

“This will be a regular ¹  burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet ²  with you to speak to you there.

You will say to them, ‘This is the offering made by fire which you must offer to the Lord: two unblemished lambs one year old each day for a continual ¹  burnt offering.

Lord, you coerced me into being a prophet, and I allowed you to do it. You overcame my resistance and prevailed over me. ¹  Now I have become a constant laughingstock. Everyone ridicules me.

For whenever I prophesy, ¹  I must cry out, ²  “Violence and destruction are coming!” ³  This message from the Lord ⁴  has made me an object of continual insults and derision.

Ephraim continually feeds on the wind; he chases the east wind all day; he multiplies lies and violence. They make treaties ¹  with Assyria, and send olive oil as tribute ²  to Egypt.

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹  Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet ²  you did not arrest me.

This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, ¹  besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

Those who anticipate my defeat ¹  attack me all day long. Indeed, ²  many are fighting against me, O Exalted One. ³
