Jesus ¹  answered them, “You are deceived, ²  because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Eat anything that is sold in the marketplace without questions of conscience,

The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

because you have been built ¹  on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, ²  with Christ Jesus himself as ³  the cornerstone. ⁴ 

And, “You founded the earth in the beginning, Lord, ¹  and the heavens are the works of your hands.

After they journeyed ¹  from Rephidim, they came to the Desert of Sinai, and they camped in the desert; Israel camped there in front of the mountain. ² 

Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their place at the foot of the mountain.

Then he would return to Ramah, because his home was there. He also judged ¹  Israel there and built an altar to the Lord there.

He also made ten bronze movable stands. Each stand was six feet ¹  long, six feet ²  wide, and four-and-a-half feet ³  high.

Remember, O Lord, what the Edomites did on the day Jerusalem fell. ¹  They said, “Tear it down, tear it down, ²  right to its very foundation!”

As the crucible is for silver and the furnace is for gold, ¹  so a person ²  is proved ³  by the praise he receives. ⁴ 

His legs are like pillars of marble set on bases of pure gold. His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as its cedars.

If she is a wall, ¹  we will build on her a battlement ²  of silver; but if she is a door, we will barricade ³  her with boards ⁴  of cedar. ⁵
