Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and to Elat on the coast in the land of Edom.

When the queen of Sheba saw for herself Solomon’s extensive wisdom, ¹  the palace ²  he had built,

Solomon received 666 talents ¹  of gold per year, ² 

“Say this to King Rehoboam son of Solomon of Judah and to all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin,

Jeroboam son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.

These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of King Hezekiah of Judah copied: ¹ 

Look! It is Solomon’s portable couch! ¹  It is surrounded by sixty warriors, some of Israel’s mightiest warriors.

and Jesse the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon (by the wife of Uriah ¹ ),

Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa, ¹ 

(5:1) ¹  Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River ²  to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms paid tribute as Solomon’s subjects throughout his lifetime. ³ 

Solomon was told, “Look, Adonijah fears you; ¹  see, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘May King Solomon solemnly promise ²  me today that he will not kill his servant with the sword.’”

But King Solomon will be empowered ¹  and David’s dynasty ²  will endure permanently before the Lord.”

Each day Solomon’s royal court consumed ¹  thirty cors ²  of finely milled flour, sixty cors of cereal,

Solomon was wiser than all the men of the east and all the sages of Egypt. ¹ 

Solomon also had 70,000 common laborers ¹  and 80,000 stonecutters ²  in the hills,

All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival ¹  in the month Ethanim ²  (the seventh month).

These men were also in charge of Solomon’s work projects; there were a total of 550 men who supervised the workers. ¹ 

Solomon rebuilt the cities that Huram ¹  had given him and settled Israelites there.

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!

King Solomon gave King Hiram of Tyre ¹  twenty cities in the region of Galilee, because Hiram had supplied Solomon with cedars, evergreens, and all the gold he wanted.
