And as for you, ¹  lift up your staff and extend your hand toward the sea and divide it, so that ²  the Israelites may go through the middle of the sea on dry ground.

When I brought your fathers out of Egypt, you arrived at the sea. The Egyptians chased your fathers with chariots and horsemen to the Red Sea.

Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea ¹  says this, O fortress of the sea: “I have not gone into labor or given birth; I have not raised young men or brought up young women.” ² 

Moreover, on that day living waters will flow out from Jerusalem, ¹  half of them to the eastern sea ²  and half of them to the western sea; ³  it will happen both in summer and in winter.

from Ekron westward, all those in the vicinity of Ashdod and their towns;

As the night was ending, ¹  Jesus came to them walking on the sea. ² 

So ¹  they came to the other side of the lake, to the region of the Gerasenes. ² 

Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

and a third of the creatures ¹  living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. ² 

And it is not across the sea, as though one must say, “Who will cross over to the other side of the sea and get it for us and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

You split the sea before them, and they crossed through ¹  the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers ²  into the depths, like a stone into surging ³  waters.

Did you not dry up the sea, the waters of the great deep? Did you not make ¹  a path through the depths of the sea, so those delivered from bondage ²  could cross over?

People ¹  will stagger from sea to sea, ²  and from the north around to the east. They will wander about looking for a revelation from ³  the Lord, but they will not find any. ⁴ 

Let the sea and everything in it shout! Let the fields and everything in them celebrate!

Or speak ¹  to the earth ²  and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea declare to you.

The deep ¹  says, ‘It is not with ²  me.’ And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’

“Who shut up ¹  the sea with doors when it burst forth, ²  coming out of the womb,

It makes the deep boil like a cauldron and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment, ¹ 

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents ¹  of the seas.

You walked through the sea; ¹  you passed through the surging waters, ²  but left no footprints. ³
