And so Job died, old and full of days.

May his days be few! ¹  May another take his job! ² 

Blessed is that slave ¹  whom his master finds at work ²  when he returns.

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered: ²

And he also had seven sons ¹  and three daughters.

or else he might find you asleep when he returns suddenly.

if ¹  the members of my household ²  have never said, ³  ‘If only there were ⁴  someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s ⁵  meat!’ –

Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work ¹  when he comes.

Then ¹  the manager said to himself, ‘What should I do, since my master is taking my position ²  away from me? I’m not strong enough to dig, ³  and I’m too ashamed ⁴  to beg.

Pick up millstones and grind flour! Remove your veil, strip off your skirt, expose your legs, cross the streams!

He will yet ¹  fill your mouth with laughter, ²  and your lips with gladness.

Therefore I say, ‘Listen ¹  to me. I, even I, will explain what I know.’

So do not say, ¹  ‘We have found wisdom! God will refute ²  him, not man!’

“They are dismayed ²  and cannot answer any more; they have nothing left to say. ³ 

“If you have ¹  understanding, listen to this, hear what I have to say. ² 

But now you are preoccupied with the judgment due the wicked, judgment and justice take hold of you.
