The Philistine said to David, “Come here to me, so I can give your flesh to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the field!” ¹ 

So David hid in the field. When the new moon came, the king sat down to eat his meal.

The next morning Jonathan, along with a young servant, went out to the field to meet David.

So I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel. I weighed out seven ounces of silver and gave it to him to pay for it. ¹ 

They ¹  utter empty words, ²  taking ³  false oaths and making empty ⁴  agreements. Therefore legal disputes sprout up like poisonous weeds ⁵  in the furrows of a plowed field.

So the slaves ¹  of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’

He gave ¹  them another parable: ²  “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed ³  that a man took and sowed in his field.

“Now his older son was in the field. As ¹  he came and approached the house, he heard music ²  and dancing.

Now Jacob cooked some stew, ¹  and when Esau came in from the open fields, he was famished.

You must be certain to tithe ¹  all the produce of your seed that comes from the field year after year.

The men of Zebulun were not concerned about their lives; ¹  Naphtali charged on to the battlefields. ² 

Let the fields and everything in them celebrate! Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy

Establish your work outside and get your fields ready; afterward build ¹  your house. ² 

So she gathered grain in the field until evening. When she threshed ¹  what she had gathered, it came to about thirty pounds ²  of barley!

Be distressed, ¹  farmers; wail, vinedressers, over the wheat and the barley. For the harvest of the field has perished.

Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers ¹  of the field grow; they do not work ²  or spin.

(Now this man Judas ¹  acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, ²  and falling headfirst ³  he burst open in the middle and all his intestines ⁴  gushed out.

For the hills bring it food, ¹  where all the wild animals play.

“If a fire breaks out and spreads ¹  to thorn bushes, ²  so that stacked grain or standing grain or the whole field is consumed, the one who started ³  the fire must surely make restitution.

If, however, the one who consecrated the field redeems it, ¹  he must add to it one fifth of the conversion price ²  and it will belong to him. ³
