haughty eyes, ¹  a lying tongue, ²  and hands that shed innocent blood, ³ 

and take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar ¹  with your finger; all the rest of ²  the blood you are to pour out at the base of the altar.

Then he must sprinkle ¹  some of the blood of the sin offering on the wall of the altar, and the remainder of the blood ²  must be squeezed out at the base of the altar – it is a sin offering.

I will drench the land with the flow of your blood up to the mountains, and the ravines will be full of your blood. ¹

Therefore, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, I will subject you to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.

You have not yet resisted to the point of bloodshed ¹  in your struggle against sin.
