So ¹  they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. ²  They ³  found the eleven and those with them gathered together

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ ¹  would suffer ²  and would rise from the dead on the third day,

In those days ¹  Peter stood up among the believers ²  (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty people) and said,

But God raised him up, ¹  having released ²  him from the pains ³  of death, because it was not possible for him to be held in its power. ⁴ 

God raised up ¹  his servant and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning ²  each one of you from your iniquities.” ³ 

Now the high priest rose up, and all those with him (that is, the religious party of the Sadducees ¹ ), ²  and they were filled with jealousy. ³ 

But stand up ¹  and enter the city and you will be told ²  what you must do.”

Immediately ¹  something like scales ²  fell from his eyes, and he could see again. He ³  got up and was baptized,

So Paul stood up, ¹  gestured ²  with his hand and said, “Men of Israel, ³  and you Gentiles who fear God, ⁴  listen:

But after the disciples had surrounded him, he got up and went back ¹  into the city. On ²  the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe. ³ 

And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, and the one who rises to rule over the Gentiles, in him will the Gentiles hope.” ¹ 

So do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” ¹ 

For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says: ¹  “Awake, ²  O sleeper! ³  Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!” ⁴ 

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that ¹  God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians. ² 

“Look! I now confirm ¹  my covenant with you and your descendants after you ² 

Then Abraham got up from mourning his dead wife ¹  and said to the sons of Heth, ² 

Abraham got up and bowed down to the local people, ¹  the sons of Heth.

So Jacob immediately put his children and his wives on the camels. ¹ 

Take your brother too, and go right away ¹  to the man. ² 

Then a new king, ¹  who did not know about ²  Joseph, came to power ³  over Egypt.
