Do not lay hands on anyone ¹  hastily and so identify with the sins of others. ²  Keep yourself pure.

But if you fulfill the royal law as expressed in this scripture, ¹  “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” ²  you are doing well.

So bathe yourself, ¹  rub on some perfumed oil, ²  and get dressed up. ³  Then go down ⁴  to the threshing floor. But don’t let the man know you’re there until he finishes his meal. ⁵ 

So the guardian said to Boaz, “You may acquire it,” and he removed his sandal. ¹ 

Look, we have investigated this, so it is true. Hear it, ¹  and apply it for your own ²  good.” ³ 

Your wickedness affects only ¹  a person like yourself, and your righteousness only other people. ² 

showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,

Make ¹  for yourself an ark of cypress ²  wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover ³  it with pitch inside and out.

But if you ¹  have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has had sexual relations with you….” ² 

You who tear yourself ¹  to pieces in your anger, will the earth be abandoned ²  for your sake? Or will a rock be moved from its place? ³ 

If you have done foolishly by exalting yourself ¹  or if you have planned evil, put ²  your hand over your mouth!

Then a wind ¹  came into me and stood me on my feet. The Lord ²  spoke to me and said, “Go shut yourself in your house.

For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself ¹  does anything in secret. ²  If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

therefore ¹  you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

Then you will take delight in the Lord, ¹  and he will answer your prayers. ² 

Let them be for yourself ¹  alone, and not for strangers with you. ² 

‘What right do you have to be here? What relatives do you have buried here? ¹  Why ²  do you chisel out a tomb for yourself here? He chisels out his burial site in an elevated place, he carves out his tomb on a cliff.

Make then my pledge ¹  with you. Who else will put up security for me? ² 

Rouse yourself, wake up ¹  and vindicate me! ²  My God and Lord, defend my just cause! ³ 

Rouse yourself! Why do you sleep, O Lord? Wake up! ¹  Do not reject us forever!
