I grind them as fine windblown dust; ¹  I beat them underfoot ²  like clay ³  in the streets.

You bring their lives to an end and they “fall asleep.” ¹  In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;

because of your anger and raging fury. Indeed, ¹  you pick me up and throw me away.

and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

Then ¹  after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹ 

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. ¹ 

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

And the rest of the Jews also joined with him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray with them ¹  by their hypocrisy.

How long must the land be parched ¹  and the grass in every field be withered? How long ²  must the animals and the birds die because of the wickedness of the people who live in this land? ³  For these people boast, “God ⁴  will not see what happens to us.” ⁵ 

Now ¹  the earth ²  was without shape and empty, ³  and darkness ⁴  was over the surface of the watery deep, ⁵  but the Spirit of God ⁶  was moving ⁷  over the surface ⁸  of the water. ⁹ 

Early in the morning ¹  Abimelech summoned ²  all his servants. When he told them about all these things, ³  they ⁴  were terrified.

I grind them as fine as the dust of the ground; I crush them and stomp on them like clay ¹  in the streets.

Meanwhile the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind blew, and there was a heavy rainstorm. Ahab rode toward ¹  Jezreel.

So the Lord was furious ¹  with Israel and rejected them; ²  only the tribe of Judah was left.

¹ “You say, ²  ‘He is foam ³  on the face of the waters; ⁴  their portion of the land is cursed so that no one goes to their vineyard. ⁵ 

One deep stream calls out to another ¹  at the sound of your waterfalls; ²  all your billows and waves overwhelm me. ³ 

Before the kindling is even placed under your pots, ¹  he ²  will sweep it away along with both the raw and cooked meat. ³
