So ¹  in all our distress and affliction, we were reassured about you, brothers and sisters, ²  through your faith.

Now on the topic of times and seasons, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  you have no need for anything to be written to you.

I call on you solemnly in the Lord ¹  to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. ² 

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, ¹  bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.

My brothers and sisters, ¹  do not show prejudice ²  if you possess faith ³  in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ 

From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters. ¹
