Terror ¹  is coming! They will seek peace, but find none.

At the sound of your captains’ cry the waves will surge; ¹ 

Now when they heard this they were stunned, ¹  and they left him and went away.

The ¹  guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him.

So after they shook ¹  the dust off their feet ²  in protest against them, they went to Iconium. ³ 

However, ¹  Paul ²  shook ³  the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.

In fact, the scene ¹  was so terrifying that Moses said, “I shudder with fear.” ² 

Now, announce to the men, ¹  ‘Whoever is shaking with fear ²  may turn around and leave Mount Gilead.’” ³  Twenty-two thousand men ⁴  went home; ⁵  ten thousand remained.

Then fear overwhelmed ¹  those who were in the camp, those who were in the field, all the army in the garrison, and the raiding bands. They trembled and the ground shook. This fear was caused by God. ² 

His battle cry overwhelms like a flooding river ¹  that reaches one’s neck. He shakes the nations in a sieve that isolates the chaff; ²  he puts a bit into the mouth of the nations and leads them to destruction. ³ 

For the king of Babylon stands at the fork ¹  in the road at the head of the two routes. He looks for omens: ²  He shakes arrows, he consults idols, ³  he examines ⁴  animal livers. ⁵ 

When they opposed him ¹  and reviled him, ²  he protested by shaking out his clothes ³  and said to them, “Your blood ⁴  be on your own heads! I am guiltless! ⁵  From now on I will go to the Gentiles!”

The mountains trembled ¹  before the Lord, the God of Sinai; ²  before the Lord God of Israel.

The earth heaved and shook; ¹  the foundations of the sky ²  trembled. ³  They heaved because he was angry.

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

when its waves ¹  crash ²  and foam, and the mountains shake ³  before the surging sea. ⁴  (Selah)

You have made your people experience hard times; ¹  you have made us drink intoxicating wine. ² 

Their slander will bring about their demise. ¹  All who see them will shudder, ² 

May their eyes be blinded! ¹  Make them shake violently! ² 

He looks down on the earth and it shakes; he touches the mountains and they start to smolder.
