Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, ¹  but who can stand before jealousy? ² 

As ¹  iron sharpens ²  iron, so a person ³  sharpens his friend. ⁴ 

Because you rage against me and the uproar you create has reached my ears, ¹  I will put my hook in your nose, ²  and my bridle between your lips, and I will lead you back the way you came.”

idolatry, sorcery, ¹  hostilities, ²  strife, ³  jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, ⁴  factions,

So Amaziah dismissed the troops that had come to him from Ephraim and sent them home. ¹  They were very angry at Judah and returned home incensed.

Now Haman went forth that day pleased and very much encouraged. ¹  But when Haman saw Mordecai at the king’s gate, and he did not rise nor tremble in his presence, ²  Haman was filled with rage toward Mordecai.

Then my anger will be fully vented; I will exhaust my rage on them, and I will be appeased. ¹  Then they will know that I, the Lord, have spoken in my jealousy ²  when I have fully vented my rage against them.

No one can withstand ¹  his indignation! ²  No one can resist ³  his fierce anger! ⁴  His wrath is poured out like volcanic fire, boulders are broken up ⁵  as he approaches. ⁶ 

The Spirit of God rushed upon Saul when he heard these words, and he became very angry.

The earth heaved and shook; ¹  the foundations of the sky ²  trembled. ³  They heaved because he was angry.

For it is a fire that devours even to Destruction, ¹  and it would uproot ²  all my harvest.

Do not be angry and frustrated! ¹  Do not fret! That only leads to trouble!

Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are overthrown. ¹  God ²  gives a shout, ³  the earth dissolves. ⁴ 

But then the Lord awoke from his sleep; ¹  he was like a warrior in a drunken rage. ² 

Your anger bears down on me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves. (Selah)

Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? ¹  Your raging fury causes people to fear you. ² 

It is better for a person to meet ¹  a mother bear being robbed of her cubs, than ²  to encounter ³  a fool in his folly. ⁴ 

A king’s wrath is like ¹  the roar of a lion, ²  but his favor is like dew on the grass. ³ 

If a wise person ¹  goes to court ²  with a foolish person, there is no peace ³  whether he is angry or laughs. ⁴ 

I too will clap my hands together, I will exhaust my rage; I the Lord have spoken.”
